28th November Black Prince Handover
At the end of September the exciting news broke that the NNR was to buy 92203 Black Prince. The 9F has of course been owned by artist David Shepherd since he purchased it from British Railways in 1967, when he subsequently gave the loco its iconic name. 92203 first visited the NNR for the 2007 summer season, before establishing itself as a more regular sight at the head of NNR trains from 2011. The official handover took place on Saturday 28th November, when David Shepherd and his family were invited to attended. During the handover ceremony, David was presented with one of the nameplates as a lasting reminder of his association with the locomotive.

7–8th March Spring Steam Gala
With Morayshire's arrival already tailored below, the other visiting loco for this years' Gala was purposeful looking 15xx class pannier 1501, usually based at the Severn Valley Railway. One of my particular highlights from event was the appearance of the 'Vintage Train', which was hauled quite capably by Wissington – now not so anonymous having recently had its name sign written onto its saddletank. The remaining locos drawn from the home fleet were: Y7 985, B12 8572, 4MT 76084 and 9F 92203 Black Prince.

1–2nd March Morayshire at the NNR
Despite their North Eastern Railway looks, the D49 class were designed under Gresley's tenure as Chief Mechanical Engineer of the LNER. The 76 members of the class were to be the last 4-4-0s built for the company, of which 62712 Morayshire is the sole surviving member. Usually based at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway in it's native Scotland, the loco currently visiting the NNR, which is the second stop on a three railway tour in England. On the 1st March the loco become the first ex-LNER 4-4-0 to run over the current day NNR since the 'Claud Hamilton' 4-4-0s in the late 1950s.
